Playing Seven Card Stud Poker
Seven card stud poker is played with a set of different rules and strategy as compared to the normal texas hold em up poker variants. There needs to be an overall understanding about the rules and regulations of the game in order to have a competitive environment during game play.
The game starts with each player being dealt two cards face down on the table and a third card that is face up and visible to all people. The game proceeds with the person who has the lowest value face up card placing a forced bet to begin the round. To play the round the other players need to call the bet, which proceeds in the clockwise direction starting from the one who has placed the forced bet.
After this, players are dealt another face up card and the one with the highest card will start the betting round. The betting amount increases gradually by $2 depending upon the limit of the game you are playing. After the fourth card, the players are dealt another face up card and the betting limit increases to $4 in case of a $2/$4 game setting. After this round of betting, the sixth card is dealt which is followed by another round of $4 betting which is in turn followed by the dealing of the seventh card, which is placed face down in front of each player and is followed by another round of $4 betting.

Strategy tips are as follows:
As with all games of poker you should attack at the beginning if you want to have a chance of bundling out your opponents early in the game.
However if you have a low hand at the outset you should play a slow and decisive game and look to build the pot odds for the poker game.
You need to look out for all possible combination taking into consideration your hand as well as your opponents hand and you should learn to fold when you find that your hand is beaten on the table.
Learn to bluff and at the same time learn to read your opponents faces as there are a lot of giveaway signs or mannerisms that can lead you to get a hint of the hand they possibly are playing for.
Remember that your four starting cards are the base for your win and if you have good cards at the outset you can set out to be the winner at the end of the game. You also need to keep in mind to fast play the card hands in case you have a high cards and slow play cards if you have low cards and you want to increase the pot odds.
